Fitness Journal: Day 41

I clearly took a long a** hiatus. Like, unnecessarily long. I’m back in full swing and I feel so good. I feel better than I’ve felt in a long time. I’m just happier.

Food choices have been a little cray but I’m still working on it.

More later, I’m taking a nap now. I deserve it.

Feeling Like A Child

I hung up on my aunt yesterday. I felt so childish and bratty but I felt backed into a corner. I couldn’t believe I did that. Here’s what went down:

I am on a project right now to plan my son’s first birthday. In my family first birthdays are ridiculously important. So important that I spent a whopping $2,000 + on my daughter’s first birthday. I made a considerably higher salary then, than I make now. (I couldn’t tell you if the last sentence is grammaticly correct or not)

I was feeling some pressure to make a big deal for my son’s birthday as well. I obviously can’t afford a hall but what I CAN afford is to rent a picnic shelter at a local lake. I did just that! It’ll be perfect with the theme I chose. Next, I call my aunt for the family addresses to send out invitations and she says ok. A few days later she calls and asks why I’m inviting extended family. Um, hello? Tradition, like we’ve always done. When someone turns one the whooooooole family gets invited. Arguing ensues and I hung up in the middle of the conversation. Wtf? Am I 12? No, in fact 30 is just around the corner.

Welp, needless to say I felt like a big fat idiot. Live and grow I guess. I’ll try not to do that again.

No ‘Poo Update

I’m actually confused. I’m on my third BS/ACV wash of the month and I haven’t had a so-called transition. My hair has not gotten any greasier. What am I doing wrong? Or perhaps my hair needed no transition. Or maybe the shampoo and conditioner I used had the same effect. Whatever the case may be I know this… My hair still feels the same as it always has.

Fitness Journal: Day 32

I’ve been unable to workout for a few days due to a hip injury or soreness or something. Who knows? All I know is my hip was killing me so badly it was hard to walk so I decided, reluctantly, that it was time for a few days of consecutive rest. Mehhhh. Well, on Sunday I went with my in-laws to the local Highschool to run the track. It was a family affair. I ended up running 3.11 miles in 35 minutes. Boy am I proud to say I did that!

Last night I ended up doing days 31 and 32 of Bikini Body Mommy challenge. I must say that I sweat more than I have in the past but I’m not sore. What does that mean? Should I have been harder or myself? I’m confused.

I slipped on my meal prepping. Mostly because I had zero time to grocery shop for the week. My weekend was jam packed with stuff I needed to do for the kids. Back to it!!

Cant wait to get back on track!

No ‘Poo… Day 2

So I realize I’m a day behind. Technically this is day 3 but I’m a night shower person so I haven’t fully reached 3 days yet so I’m calling this day 2. I can truthfully report that I have no grease and I’m wearing my normal 2nd day hair pony. I put a little hairspray to tame my little frizzies that are growing back after I lost it all post-partum.

I might have to go back and check but I think you’re supposed to go 3-4 days between washes. Right? I guess we’ll see. I’m planning and 3rd day hair bun tomorrow so I’m not so worried.

Hopefully the the grease monster doesn’t attack like I read it does!!!

Fitness Journal: Day 29h

Let me just start by saying I had an amazingly relaxing weekend this weekend. Sort of. If you consider housework and chores and meal prepping relaxing. I seem to always make plans and fill my weekends with social things like catching up with friends and family. This weekend I put my foot down and said no. I told my baby girl to get her pjs on after we all got home on Friday because we weren’t going anywhere. By golly, we didn’t. So proud.

I did workout, though. Don’t you worry. Day 29 of the Bikini Body Mommy challenge is complete. Although, she says I’m supposed to up the weight on my free weights but I have yet to do that. Not even really sure if I will. I ended up going on a run in my neighborhood and someone actually got me to do Insanity abs. Holy cow! It was not easy after what I think was about a 2 mile run. Mind you, I have not been running like I used to so I very honestly just jumped back on that horse and am so proud. Minimal stops and uphill battles.

This week’s meal prep is a one pot pasta recipe I found on Pinterest. Wheat spaghetti, zucchini, peas, garlic, Parmesan and heavy cream.

Edite to add that I am incredibly sore. So much that I can barely walk. Victory!!!

I Stopped Shampooing My Hair

Day 1 folks. I officially hopped on board the ‘No ‘Poo’ train. I’m using baking soda and vinegar.

What’s it like? So far I think I have vinegar smelling hair. I swear I thought I over-rinsed to avoid that so either my hair is so porous that it wouldn’t let the apple cider vinegar fully rinse out or I just need to do a better job.

My hair feels ok I guess. Not so different than the last time I shampoo’d and conditioned. I guess the real test is how it reacts the next couple of days. Here’s to finding out…
